It sounds biblical. It sounds like the right thing to say. But there’s one problem: God never said that.
In Week 2 of God Never Said That, we take a closer look at what Scripture actually teaches about forgiveness.
Through the story of Joseph and his brothers, we see that forgiveness does not mean pretending the pain never happened or forgetting the wounds we’ve experienced. Joseph remembered what his brothers had done, and he wept because of the pain, but he also chose forgiveness and ultimately trusted God with the story.
The Bible calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven, not because our feelings have caught up, but because God’s grace has already met us there.
God never said, “Forgive and forget.” What He offers is something even better: the freedom to forgive, the grace to heal, and the strength to move forward without allowing hurt to have the final word.
Join us for Week 2 of God Never Said That as we discover what God actually says about forgiveness.
