From the Ashes – Week 2: Humility
In week three of our Lent series From the Ashes, we look at one of the defining characteristics of Jesus: humility. While the world often encourages pride, self-promotion, and personal gain, Jesus modeled a radically different way of living.
In Philippians 2:3–8, we see that Christ, though King of Kings and Lord of Lords, humbled Himself and became a servant. He willingly lowered Himself so that we could be raised to new life. Jesus didn’t just teach humility. He demonstrated it when He washed His disciples’ feet in John 13.
This message challenges us to confront pride, embrace humility, and live a life that reflects Christ through service to others. When we choose humility over selfish ambition, we begin to experience the abundant life Jesus promised.
Listen and reflect on these questions:
-
Who do you need to serve this week?
-
Where might you need to confess pride?
-
How will Christ’s example shape your daily life starting tomorrow?
